The Union Public Service Commission has started the UPSC registration for preliminary examination today, January 22, 2025, onwards. The UPSC application form has been released at upsconline.nic.in. Only candidates eligible for the UPSC exam can fill out the registration form for the preliminary stage. Students must pay the application fee to successfully register for the UPSC exam. The registration fee for the UPSC prelims exam is INR 100 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates. Other category candidates including female aspirants from all categories are exempted from paying the application fees. This year, UPSC exam 2025 will be conducted on May 25.

UPSC Prelims Registration 2025 – Application Process
The detailed UPSC application process for the preliminary examination is as follows:

3. Registration Part I | Provide basic details such as name, date of birth, email, phone number, address, and educational qualifications. After submission, you’ll receive a registration ID. |
4. Registration Part II | Use the registration ID to log in and complete the second part of the application. This involves selecting exam centres, uploading documents, and making the payment. |
5. Upload Documents | Upload scanned copies of: a) Passport-sized photograph b) Signature c) proof (as per guidelines). Ensure the files meet size and format requirements mentioned in the notification. |
6. Fee Payment | Pay the application fee online (via credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI) or offline (by generating an SBI challan and paying at the branch). Fee exemptions may apply to specific categories. |
7. Choose Exam Center | Select your preferred exam centre from the available list. Centres are allotted on a first-come-first-served basis. |
8. Preview Application | Review all the details entered to ensure accuracy. Verify all the uploaded documents and payment status. |
9. Submit Application | Submit the application after verifying the details. Once submitted, no changes can be made. |
