GATE Counselling 2025 – IISc Bangalore has started the GATE counselling process on its official website. Candidates who have qualified in the GATE result 2025 can register themselves for the counselling process at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Candidates must register on the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP) for admission to IITs, while those who seeking admission to NITs and IIITs need to participate in CCMT counselling.
The counselling process for GATE includes the registration process, choice-filling process, seat allotment, and reporting to the college. Along with the online registration on COAP’s website, candidates must complete the online registration process for the respective institute based on their preference and rank in the exam. GATE does not organise any counselling and seat allotment process for MTech admissions. After the GATE 2025 result declaration, participating institutes will release their admission cut-off.
Candidates qualifying for the GATE cutoff can participate in the counselling process conducted by respective bodies based on their college choice and branch of study. Every year, the GATE organising institute of the preceding year acts as the coordinating institute for COAP. For this year, IISc Bangalore is the coordinating institute.
There are 24 institutes that will participate in COAP 2025 including IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Roorkee among others. Students can make their choices of institutions and programs based on their GATE scores and their preferences.

GATE Counselling 2025 – Steps to Apply
Candidates who have qualified in GATE 2025/2024/2023 and wish to apply for M.Tech.admission in any of the participating institutes/job offers in PSUs are eligible for register at the COAP portal. Given below are the steps to apply for the counselling process.
Step 1: Candidates need to visit the official COAP website.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Register’ option
Step 3: To register at COAP 2025, the following details will be required by the candidate
- Name of the candidate
- GATE Registration number(s)
- Valid GATE score(s)
- Date of birth
- Email ID
- Mobile number
Step 4: Click on the ‘Submit’ option to submit your registration.
Step 5: You will receive login information via Email/SMS.
Step 6: Click on the ‘Login’ option available on the homepage and verify registration details.
Step 7: Enter an additional GATE score (if any, in the last three years) and submit.
