TISSNET Replaced by CUET PG: The TISS National Entrance Test which is held at the Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISSNET) has been discontinued for the academic year 2024-25. Instead of TISSNET, the admission for all postgraduate courses will be based on CUET PG 2024, except for two which will be done on the basis of the national-level management entrance test CAT. The institute made this decision in accordance with the directives from the Ministry of Education and the University Grants Commission, which mandate the use of CUET for postgraduate program admissions in central, state, and other participating universities.
CUET provides a unified chance to all the students who are seeking admission in any of the Central Universities (CUs) and other participating entities including State Universities, Deemed to be Universities, and Private Universities nationwide. Hence, the institution took the decision to scrap the TISS NET 2024.
Meanwhile, students who wish to take admission to courses including Master of Arts in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations and Master of Arts in Organisation Development, Change and Leadership will be done through the Common Eligibility Test (CAT 2023). On the other hand, admission for all other postgraduate programmes will be done based on the candidate’s score in CUET.
Further, for any CUET application-related query, candidates need to visit the official website of NTA – cuet.nta.nic.in. Also, candidates can visit the official website of TISS – admissions.tiss.edu. to check more details about the TISS admissions.
Earlier, the TISS exam used to be conducted at a national level in order to take admissions to master (Master of Arts, Master of Science, and BEd-MEd integrated) programmes. The institute further said that more details on the same will be given to students in a detailed notice. Further, the detailed notice will be released soon.
