IIT Madras emerges as the top institute in ‘Overall’ Category according to NIRF Ranking 2024

NIRF Ranking 2024: National Institutional Ranking Framework has released its 9th edition of overall university rankings today. IIT Madras has been ranked at the first position, followed by Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru.

Top NIRF Ranked Colleges 2024: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has released the 9th edition of its university rankings today, August 12, 2024. The Ministry of Education recognizes NIRF as a trustable source of ranking universities across the country. As per this year’s rankings, 7 IITs have taken a spot in the top 10 institutions in India. IIT Madras has bagged the first spot once again.

NIRF India rankings are released categories including overall, university, colleges, pharmacy, law,  engineering, management, medical, dental, and architecture. This year, NIRF has introduced three new categories: open universities, skill universities, and state-funded universities. NIRF was established in 2015, under the approval of Ministry of Human Resource Development, now known as Ministry of Education.

The Ministry of Education has accepted NIRF rankings as the reliable source of assessing institutes across the country based on various parameters. NIRF ranks institutes based on the following parameters:
