What is UPSC DAF 2 Form?
The Detailed Application Form is an essential part of the UPSC CSE examination. It serves as the base for the Personality Test, since the interview panel uses the details provided in the DAF-II by the candidates to formulate interview questions. Candidates are thus advised to fill in the details carefully and mindfully because they will be asked questions on the basis of their DAF-II information. Candidates should also refrain from providing false information as it could lead to disqualification if discrepancies are noticed.
Candidates are also required to fill in their order of preferences for Zones/ States Cadre (for IAS/IPS). It is advisable that candidates read carefully about the states/zones they wish to fill in as preferences. To know more about Cadres and Zones, one can look through the Cadre Allocation Policy-2017 available at the website of the Department of Personnel and Training cseplus.nic.in/Home/CadreAllocation. It is important to keep in mind that after filling out the DAF-II, no change in the order of preferences will be allowed.
