JEE Main Preparation 2025 – The JEE Main exam 2025 is set to be conducted from January 22, 2025, to January 31, 2025. Candidates who wish to appear for the JEE Main Session 1 and Session 2 exams in January and April, respectively must be aware of the subject-wise preparation strategy. For admission to B.E/B.Tech, the candidates are required to study three subjects – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Recently, NTA has brought some minor changes in the pattern of the JEE Main exam 2025 by removing optional questions in Section B of the paper.
JEE Main preparation includes holistic revision of all three subjects – Physics, Chemistry, and Maths and simultaneously practising mock tests to get an idea of the types of questions that may be asked in the examination.

JEE Main Maths Preparation Tips
A coordinated and structured approach, consistent effort, and understanding of core concepts are required to ace the maths section of the JEE Main exam. The following are the preparation tips for the JEE Main Maths paper:
- Get familiar with the JEE Main syllabus and divide it into high-weightage and moderate-weightage topics based on past trends.
- Focus on strengthening the fundamentals of core concepts of different topics like Coordinate Geometry, Calculus, Algebra, Probability, Vectors, and 3D Geometry.
- Create your study plan as per your strengths and weaknesses and allow time for both high and moderate-weightage topics.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals and track your progress
- Take at least 2-3 mock tests in a week based on the topics you covered. Once fully prepared, take a complete mock test.
- Focus on Important Topics
- Coordinate Geometry: Straight lines, circles, parabolas, and hyperbolas.
- Calculus: Differentiation, integration, application of derivatives, and definite integrals.
- Algebra: Quadratic equations, complex numbers, matrices, and determinants.
- Vectors & 3D: Line and plane equations, shortest distance problems
JEE Main Physics Preparation Types
To prepare well for the JEE Main Physics section, candidates must adopt the following ways:
- Focus on Mechanic, Electrodynamics, Modern Physics and Optics which constitute high-weightage topics.
- For Electrodynamics, use Kirchhoff’s Laws extensively for circuit problems.
- Memorize formulas like Δ 𝑉 = 𝐼𝑅 and F=qE.
- Solve numerical problems daily from HC Verma Vol. II and DC Pandey.
- Revise Einstein’s photoelectric equation E=hf−ϕ for numerical questions.
- Pay close attention to diffraction and interference principles.
- Thermodynamics is also an important topic in JEE Main Physics section. Here, the focus areas are PV diagrams and cyclic processes.
- Practise error propagation problems for Error Analysis; memorize SI Unit conversions.
- Focus on repetitive topics like Gravitation and Oscillations.
- Solve at least 2-3 mock tests per week on the NTA Abhyas app.
JEE Main Chemistry Preparation Tips
The JEE Main Chemistry syllabus is divided into Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry. The preparation tips for each are as follows:
