CAT 2024: Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is going to conduct the CAT exam on November 24, 2024. With only a month left until the Common Admission Test, aspirants are now advised to begin revising their syllabus along with practising mock tests. CAT preparation tips 2024
CAT aspirants are advised to begin attempting previous years’ question papers and mock test papers in the final one month left. By solving test papers, candidates will be able to understand the examination pattern and divide their time towards each section of the paper equally. CAT Preparation Week 1

– Start building expertise on basic concepts. This will require you to thoroughly go through each section and practise basic questions from VARC, DILR, and QA. – Pay special attention to Quantitative Aptitude questions this week. This section is all about strong calculations and clear concepts. Try to attempt as many mathematics questions as possible to strengthen the basics. – For Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, try to read 2 to 3 passages every day. This will help you develop a faster reading speed and understanding of the language. | – Do not spend too much time on one topic. If you are feeling stuck on one concept, skip it and come back to it later. – Do not treat one section more important than others. All three sections in the CAT exam carry equal weightage. CAT Preparation Week 2

– Week 2 for preparation is for building strategies. This is the time when you should begin learning short cut methods and time management skills for each section. – Try to form analogies to remember the concepts in QA. CAT General Study Tips 2024
- Time management: With just one month left for CAT 2024 exam, candidates are advised to divide their time between all three sections equally. Try to practise as many questions as possible to understand the concepts well.
- Solve mock tests: Previous years’ CAT toppers have suggested solving one mock test every day. Attempting a mock test every day helps candidates understand the exam pattern and gain confidence for the main examination.
- Check previous years’ test papers: Candidates are advised to check previous years’ CAT exam question papers. This will help candidates understand the type of questions which will be included in the examination.
- Take adequate rest: The last one month for CAT preparation may get stressful. Therefore, aspiring candidates are advised to take adequate rest between their studies. Candidates should remember to relax and involve themselves in other physical activities including regular exercise and walks.
