CAT 2024 Result: The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is going to announce the result for CAT exam 2024 any time soon. Once the result is announced, qualified candidates will be eligible for the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds conducted by the IIMs for admissions.
The admission process for IIMs is carried out individually by each institute. Candidates who score above the required cut off for CAT 2024 will be shortlisted for GD/PI rounds by the IIMs. Students must remember that the shortlisting criteria for each IIM is separate. The IIM admission process generally consists of Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and a Personal Interview (PI).
Eligibility for admission to IIMs through CAT 2024
After the CAT result 2024 is announced, candidates will be able to apply for admission to the Indian Institutes of Management according to the scores obtained by them. - Candidates are required to score a minimum of 50% in order to qualify in the CAT exam 2024. However, the selection criteria for each IIM varies.
- Those candidates who are in their final year of graduation are also eligible for admission.

CAT 2024: IIM admission process
The admission process for IIMs will commence after the CAT result is announced. Check the step-by-step admission process below:
Step 1: Shortlisting of Candidates
Candidates who qualify in the Common Admission Test or CAT exam will be shortlisted for IIM admissions on the basis of their scores. Those who score above the shortlisting cut off will have to register for the WAT/GD-PI rounds via the official website.
Step 2: WAT/GD-PI Round
Students will further be segregated after the WAT/GD-PI rounds. The candidates are selected in the GD-PI rounds on the basis of their academic performance, CAT score, and overall record.
Step 3: Final Selection
After the conclusion of WAT/GD-PI rounds, candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of the following criteria:
- Academic background
- Aggregate score in Graduation
- CAT 2024 score
- Minimum cut off
- WAT/GD-PI performance
- Work experience
- Gender diversity
