UPSC Prelims 2024 Answer Key – The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) successfully conducted the UPSC Prelims exam on June 16, 2024. The UPSC answer key will be released after the declaration of final results at the official website – upsc.gov.in.The answer key will display correct responses for General Studies Paper 1 and Paper 2 (CSAT).
Meanwhile, candidates can check and download the unofficial answer keys provided by various coaching institutes. It must be noted that the scores calculated using the unofficial answer keys are preliminary in nature. The final marks in UPSC Prelims 2024 may differ for the candidates.
Once the recruitment process concludes, the exam-conducting body will release the official UPSC Prelims 2024 answer key. Candidates do not get the opportunity to challenge the UPSC answer key.

UPSC Prelims Answer Key 2024 – How to calculate scores?
Candidates can compare their marked responses to those provided in the answer keys released by coaching institutes for an estimation of their marks in the UPSC Prelims exam. To get an idea of their potential scores, candidates must be aware of the marking scheme of the exam. The marking scheme is provided below.
GS Paper 1 Marking Scheme
- The paper consists of 100 questions for a total of 200 marks.
- 2 marks are awarded for each correct answer.
- 1/3rd marks allotted to the question, that is, 0.33 marks are deducted for each incorrect response.
- No marks are deducted for unmarked answers.
GS Paper 2 Marking Scheme
- The paper consists of 80 questions for a total of 200 marks
- Candidates are awarded 2.5 marks for each correct answer
- 0.83 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer
- No marks are deducted for questions that are left unmarked.
Note: Candidates can calculate their scores on the basis of the marking scheme and number of correct and incorrect responses.
