CBSE Marking Scheme released for Class 10, 12 board exams; Check details here

As per CBSE marking scheme, maximum mark allotted to each subject is 100.

CBSE Marking Scheme: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the marking scheme for Class X & Class XII board exams on its official website. The maximum mark for any subject is 100, according to the CBSE marking scheme. The total marks, or maximum marks are distributed among practical exams, theory exams, and internal assessments. 

CBSE issued an official notification urging the need for clear marking schemes, which reads as follows, “It has been observed that schools are committing mistakes while uploading the marks in respect of practical/project/internal assessment. To aid and assist the schools in the smooth conduct of these practical/project/internal assessments and conduct of theory examinations, a list of subjects for classes 10 and 12  containing the details is attached with the circular for information.”

For Class 10 students, internal assessments for subjects like Science, Maths, Hindi, Social Science, and English carry 20 marks. 

For Class 12 students, practical exams for subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, and Physical Education among others carry 30 marks.

Candidates can check the marking scheme for their respective subjects on the official website of CBSE. The board has released the marking scheme for all 83 subjects.

The theory exams for Class 10 and 12, according to the CBSE 2024 datesheet, are scheduled to commence on February 15, 2024, while the practical exams will commence on January 01, 2024.
