UGC NET Applicatin Form 2024: The National Testing Agency has started the application process for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET 2024) June session on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in from April 20, 2024. The last date to apply for UGC NET examination is May 10, 2024.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the official UGC NET portal for updates on registration dates and other important notifications. Once the registration starts, interested candidates can apply for the UGC NET 2024 exam online within the specified time frame.

The UGC chairman, Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar, tweeted and said ''The candidates who are pursuing Four Year/8 Semester Bachelor’s Degree Programme and are in their last semester/year may also apply for the UGC-NET. The candidates with a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree Programme are allowed to appear in a subject in which they want to pursue a Ph.D. irrespective of the discipline in which they have obtained the four-year bachelor’s degree.''

UGC NET Application Form 2024 - Documents Required

Candidates need to submit the following details and documents  while registering for the UGC NET 2024 exam.

UGC NET Application Form 2024 - Steps to Fill 

To fill out the UGC NET 2024 application form, candidates can follow the instructions provided below.

• Candidates are required to register using a valid email ID and phone number.
• Now, open the candidate portal and login through your credentials. 
• Fill in personal details such as your educational qualifications and other required information in the application form.

UGC NET Application Form Correction Window 

After the submission of the UGC NET 2024 application form, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will provide a correction window for candidates to make necessary changes or corrections in their details. The correction window allows candidates to rectify any errors or discrepancies in their application form, such as personal details, educational qualifications, or choice of examination cities.

UGC NET Application Form 2024: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must carefully read the UGC NET 2024 eligibility criteria before filling the application form. The following candidates are eligible to apply for UGC NET exam:

• Candidates with a Master’s degree who have secured at least 55% marks (50% in case of OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender category candidates) in their Master’s degree or equivalent examination can apply.
• Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or who have appeared for their final year examination can also apply for the UGC-NET exam. However, such candidates must complete their Master’s degree or equivalent examination within two years from the date of NET result with required percentage of marks (55% marks for General/ General EWS/ Unreserved candidates and 50% for OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third Gender category candidates).
• Ph.D. degree holders whose Master’s level examination was completed by 19 September 1991 (irrespective of date of declaration of result) can appear for UGC NET. A relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) will be granted to such candidates.

UGC NET Age Limit 2024

• For Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), candidates should not be more than 30 years of age as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded. A relaxation of 5 years is provided for candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/ SC/ ST/ PwD/ Third Gender category.
• There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.
