The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has launched an updated version of the GMAT exam called the GMAT Focus Edition
While initially introduced on November 7, 2023, the traditional GMAT will be gradually discontinued post January 31, 2024. Starting February 1, 2024, the sole available version will be the GMAT Focus Edition.
Reduction from four to three sections. The Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning sections remain, but the AWA section has been cut out
Data Insights Section
This section evaluates candidates' skills in analyzing and interpreting data. With 20 questions, it tests proficiency in digital and data literacy
Time Efficiency The test duration is now totaling 2 hours and 15 minutes compared to the previous 3 hours and 7 minutes
Content ChangesThe Verbal section sees a major overhaul, eliminating Sentence Correction questions entirely and emphasizing Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning. The number of questions decreases from 36 to 23.
In the Quantitative section, Data Insights replace Data Sufficiency questions, and Geometry is no longer included, focusing on arithmetic and algebra. This results in 21 Problem-Solving questions.
