Re-NEET UG 2026: Important measures announced by NTA, dress code guidelines

With allegations related to irregularities and amid the paper leak row, NTA announces a series of security measures with hopes of ensuring a  fair and transparent conduct of the  Re-neet UG 2026.

On 3rd May 2026, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the NEET UG 2026 exam was cancelled following confirmed reports of a question bank leak.

With the follow- up announcement of revised NEET UG 2026, social media platforms are filled with questions related to the fairness and justice for aspirants.

Following this, NTA announces some important measures to curb the allegations and ensure a fair examination.

Under section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has ordered the blocking of Telegram in India until June 22, amid NEET UG Re-Exam 2026.

TEMPORARY BAN ON TELEGRAM

Sealed question paper packets are being airlifted by the Indian Air Force pilots to 18 regional hubs, from where they will be distributed to examination centres under closely monitored conditions.

Paper setters,  translators and other personnel with confidential stages of question paper preparation have been housed at a secure and undisclosed location and are placed under continuous supervision until the examination concludes on June 21.

STRICT ISOLATION FOR PAPER SETTLERS 

In addition to these measures, some important dress codes are to be followed by the candidates, such as wearing light clothing, slippers and shoes without big soles, no bulky accessories, etc.

Candidates are advised to carry transparent water bottles and report early to ensure proper frisking. Candidates must also ensure to read all the instructions released by NTA carefully before reporting to the centre.
