The University of Delhi on Friday, August 1, 2025, began its new academic session, welcoming both first-year students and those entering the fourth year under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP), which is being implemented in full for the first time.

More than 55% of eligible students have chosen to continue into the new fourth year under FYUP.

Out of around 71,000 students eligible for the final year, 31,004 have opted out, with the majority embracing the extended programme.

This academic year, Delhi University offers 71,624 undergraduate seats across 79 programmes in 69 colleges.
