Citing trends, he claimed that between 2021-22 and 2023-24, 22 out of 23 IITs recorded a decline in placements while the drop was over 20 percentage points at 15 IITs

He also claimed that in 2021-22, 90.43% of BTech students from IITs who appeared for placements were placed. However, the percentage dropped to 80.25% in 2023-24
