Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) are offers secured by students before the commencement of the placement process in their respective colleges

This usually happens after the completion of the internship period, when students are offered a full-time position

Meanwhile, ‘unique offers’ are the ones secured in the college placement drive. Students who accept a PPO are not allowed to sit in the placement drive

IIT Faculty explains that final year students prefer PPO as it is a ‘win-win’ situation for both the company and the student

PPOs provide assurance to students. With PPOs, students don’t have to worry about the placement process and can focus on qualifying entrance exams or their study abroad plans

Companies prefer PPOs as they have interacted with the students and are aware of their work ethic and professionalism

Students get to know about the work environment and culture of the company during the internship

Hence, it is the decision of the student to accept a PPO if the company suits them or sit in the placement drive if it doesn't
