How to Attempt UGC NET Computer-Based Test: Full Procedure from NTA Guidelines

The UGC NET December 2025 exam is scheduled from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026. The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT).

Follow these easy steps to take your UGC NET 2025 December exam without any hassles or difficulties.

Each candidate will be provided with a separate computer which will be linked to their roll number. The candidate has to sit only on that computer. You will not be allowed to change your system or seat as it may lead to cancellation of candidature.

The computer screen allotted to you will show your photo, subject, and login screen. Use your  login ID, and password to log in.

Once you have logged in, go through all important instructions for your UGC NET December 2025 exam.

You cannot access the keyboard during the exam. You can only use the mouse and on-screen virtual keyboard to enter your answer.

You are allowed to change your answers anytime before your time duration ends.

In case of any technical glitch, first inform your invigilator. In such a case, you will be allotted a new system and the time lost in this will be adjusted.

The display screen will have a timer which will constantly  show remaining time. The exam will be submitted automatically when the time gets over.

The Question screen will show these options -  Not visited, Not answered, Answered, Marked for Review, Answered & Marked for Review.  The ‘marked for review’ options without answering will not be evaluated.

For MCQs, you can click the question number on the screen to attempt them. Click ‘Save & Next’ to save them and then move ahead. You can click on  ‘Mark for Review & Next’ to review your answer later.

For numerical/type-in answers, you can use on-screen keyboard to type in your answer.

You can change answers within the exam time frame by selecting the question, clearing your response and then answering again.

You will be provided rough sheets during the exam to solve problems manually. Use only those rough sheets and return them to the invigilator once the exam gets over.
