JEE Advanced: First Time in 5 Years: 45 IIT Seats Remain Unfilled

In 2023, 17,340 candidates were allotted seats in the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) after the six rounds of the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counseling process.

This is the first time in the past five years that there have been vacant seats in IITs, with 45 seats remaining unfilled.

Over the past five years, JoSAA data indicates that the number of allocated seats by the end of the process consistently exceeds the initial count of available seats at the beginning of counseling.
