Recent data indicates a decline in campus placement percentages at several older IITs, including IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, and IIT Guwahati, over the past years

IIT Delhi is the only older IIT that has maintained a consistent placement rate of 84% to 85% since 2018, with slight fluctuations during the pandemic years

The placement percentage for IIT Bombay decreased from 82% in 2022-23 to 75% in 2023-24 session. Other first-generation IITs also witnessed a drop in the placement percentage, as per the data
