Students from Central Boards had a higher passing percentage than State boards, the latest report from MoE revealed

While a total of 83.6% students qualified in the state-board exams, 93.7% students qualified in the central Board exams

National level Boards (CBSE, ICSE and NIOS) along with 56 State level Boards participated in the report

Individually, in the CBSE exam, 91.7% students passed in Class 10th while 82.5% students passed in Class 12th

The report also found a vast difference between the students’ performance in Class 10th and Class 12th within the same state

The disparity between 10th and 12th board results widened in Odisha and West Bengal

Meanwhile, the gap in performance reduced in Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Manipur

In terms of gender-wise statistics, female students had a higher passing percentage than male students. A total of 86.3% girls passed the exam compared to 78.9% boys

An interesting finding of the report was that more female students were enrolled in government schools rather than private and Government-aided schools

The study indicates that parents spend less on the education of girls as compared to boys. However, female students displayed a better performance across all management
