Mathematics in CBSE Class 12th can be chosen with Science, Commerce and Humanities stream. This means students can study Maths along with Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Science, or with Economics and Business Studies in Commerce as well as with History and Political Science in Arts.

The Mathematics curriculum has six main units: Relations and Functions which is of 8 marks, Algebra of 10 marks, Calculus weightage is of 35, Vectors and 3D Geometry is of 14, Linear Programming is of 5 marks and lastly Probability for 8. The total of all 6 units is 80 marks.

This section includes 18 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 2 Assertion-Reason Based Questions. Each question carries 1 mark, making section A worth a total of 20 marks.
