CBSE 10th Phase 1 results are out on cbse.nic.in for 20 lakh students, launching the new two-exam era for 2026.

The 2026 two-phase policy reduces the pressure that students face, offering flexibility to improve scores without losing an academic year.

Who can appear for Phase 2?

Phase 1 was mandatory. To qualify for the May Phase 2, which will also act as a second chance, students must have appeared for most Phase 1 subjects.

Phase 2 is for those improving up to three subjects, 2024 to 25 compartment cases, and Board-approved athletes. Eligibility is limited to these specific groups.

Phase 2 exams run from May 5 to 20, 2026. This intensive window focuses on core subjects, offering a quick path to better scores.

LoC Registration Window

Schools must submit LoC and fees by April 16 to 20, 2026. A late window opens by April 21 and 22, 2026, but carries a heavy late fee!

Students can choose to improve in up to three subjects. Phase 2 only applies if the external theory exceeds 50% of grades.

New "Math flexibility" allows switching between Standard and Basic versions for Phase 2. No other subject changes are permitted.

For students appearing within India, the fee is Rs 320 per subject. If you take the maximum allowed (3 subjects), the total will be Rs 960. Remember, if you miss the initial deadline, a late fee of Rs 2,000 per student will be added to the total.

Students in Nepal will pay Rs 1,100 per subject, while those in other international locations will pay Rs 2,200 per subject. All payments must be processed online through the official school portal or the private candidate link.
