Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) is a deemed-to-be university located in Puducherry, India. The institution was established in 2001 with a vision to develop medical and health sciences education. SBV was granted deemed-to-be university status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in recognition of its academic quality and commitment to health care in 2008. At present there are two campuses, namely SBV Pondy campus and SBV Chennai campus. One more campus would soon be established at Karaikal that would offer multidisciplinary programmes.

SBV was created with the vision of achieving excellence in health professions education, translational research and quality patient care. Since then the University has developed courses in health sciences at different levels, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral and Diploma in health sciences. SBV University Admission 2025

SBV Admission process 2025

Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV), Puducherry, has a clearly defined admission process for all programs. The university will announce whether or not it is accepting applications by way of a notification on its website. Subsequent to such a notification, prospective applicants will be asked to submit an online application. Depending upon the program, academic qualifications and successful completion of relevant entrance examinations (e.g., NEET for MBBS or SBV's own test for PhD) will be verified to establish eligibility. Once this process is complete, merit lists will be made available online, and shortlisted applicants may be invited to interview or counselling sessions prior to the offer of admission to the program of their choice. After completing this verification process, successful applicants will receive written confirmation of their admission to the program through email and/or post. Classes will commence after such offers of admission have been completed and the applicants have paid the requisite program fees.

Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth (SBV) has an established Placement & Career Guidance Cell, which supports students in all fields of study, and especially in Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Biomedical fields. SBV is well-connected with multispecialty hospitals and diagnostic labs, pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions, and research bodies. Most graduates become employed as clinical practitioners, academicians or researchers, or in health systems administration, while some enrol in further studies, either in India or internationally.
