The written online test of RRB Group D 2025 will have a total of 100 questions to be completed in 90 minutes. There is 1 mark for each correct answer and negative 1/3 for each incorrect answer. The RRB Group D syllabus contains questions from General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning and General Awareness and Current Affairs.
As per the RRB Group D 2025 exam pattern, there are 25 questions from science, 25 from mathematics, 30 from reasoning and 20 from current affairs. Candidates clearing the online paper have to appear for a physical test which involves Carrying of Weight to specified distance in specified time and a Running test.

The RRB Group D recruitment process comprises four stages, namely, a computer based test, physical efficiency test, document verification and medical examination. All the applicants have to appear for the computer based test or CBT. Those who clear the CBT are qualified for the next level, i.e., physical test. RRB Group D Pattern 2025: CBT
Candidates who have applied for RRB Group D 2025 examination have to mandatorily appear for the CBT examination. The dates for the CBT exam and its admit card will be specified on the official website of the railway recruitment board.
The RRB Group D examination is for a duration of 90 minutes. There are a total of 100 questions of 1 mark each for the correct answer. The examination also carries a negative marking of 1/3 for each incorrect answer. The subject-wise question distribution is as tabulated below.

Medium of Examination
The RRB Group D examination is conducted in 15 languages. Candidates have to opt for a language for the CBT paper during the application process. The online question paper will be displayed in the language opted for and in English. The languages offered as medium of RRB Group D examination are as follows:

RRB Group D Pattern 2025: Physical Efficiency Test
Candidates who clear the RRB Group D CBT exams and score a merit in it can have to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) stage of the recruitment process. This stage is compulsory for all the qualified candidates.
The PET consists of two stages, carrying of weight and the running test. If a candidate fails in the first stage, that is, carrying of weights, he will be disqualified for the running test. The physical test of RRB Group D exam has different criteria for male and female candidates. Candidates can check the same from the table below.

Physical Efficiency Test: For Male candidates
- Male candidates should be able to lift and carry 35 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes. The carrying of weight should be in one chance without putting the weight down.
- Candidates should also be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance.
Physical Efficiency Test: For Female candidates
- Female candidates should be able to lift and carry 20 Kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down
- In the second stage, they should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
