RRB Group D Application Form 2025: Revised Dates, Notification, Steps to Apply, Application Fee Eligibility Criteria; Apply Online

The RRB Group D 2026 application form has started at rrbapply.gov.in. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the official notification for the RRB Group D recruitment 2026. The registration process for the exam started on January 31, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for various posts in the Indian Railways till March 2, 2026.

Last year, in a notification dated January 22, 2026, the various RRBs have released vacancies for 32,438 posts in Level-1 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix. The dates for the computer based test of RRB Group D 2026 will be announced soon at the official websites of the RRBs. Check: RRB Group D Vacancies 2026

RRB Group D 2026 Notification

Last year, the Railway Recruitment Board released a detailed notification on RRB Group D recruitment. 16 zones of the Indian Railways had been released for more than 32000 vacancies for various posts in Level 1, such as Assistant Bridge, Hospital Assistant, Workshop Assistant, and Track Maintainer. The RRB Group D Exam 2026, conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board, was earlier scheduled to be conducted from January 1, 2026 to January 16, 2026. Earlier, the application form was scheduled to be released on January 21, 2026 and the last date to apply was February 20, 2026. There are a total of 22,195 vacancies.

Candidates can apply for the RRB Group D 2026 exam at the official website. The RRB Group D application form is released online by the examination authority. There is no facility to submit the application form offline. The application fee is refunded to candidates once they appear in the CBT. Before registering for the exam, candidates must go through the detailed notification of the exam. RRB Group D Application 2026: Steps to Apply

The application process for the RRB Group D 2026 exam is ongoing. Candidates applying for the RRB Group D 2026 recruitment must follow the steps listed below.

Step 1 - Visit the official website: Go to the official website - rrbapply.gov.in. You can also apply from the regional RRB website of your zone.

Step 2 - Click on Apply tab: Look for the tab to apply. On the top right corner of the homepage, there is a tab called “Apply”. Click on this tab. 

Step 3 - Registering for the exam: On clicking the Apply Tab, there is an option to “Create an Account” or login through your already existing account. If a candidate has already created an account for any Indian Railways exam of 2024, the same account credentials can be used to log in and apply for RRB Group D 2026 exam. However, those who have not created an account previously, they have to first create an account. The details entered at this stage cannot be edited later.

Step 4 - Login using credentials: Once you have registered to the RRB website with your personal information, email and mobile number, login into your account with mobile number or email address and password. During registration, candidates must verify their Aadhar by providing their Aadhar details. 

Step 5 - Fill the Application Form: After logging in, fill in the application form with personal, educational, and contact information.

Step 6 - Upload Photograph and Signature: The next step is to upload the correct size of the candidate’s photograph and signature. Candidates must upload a recent, clear colour passport size photograph of size 50 to 100 KB. The signature must be in running handwriting of size 30 to 50 KB.

Step 7 - Fee payment: RRB Group D 2026 application fee must be paid online through internet banking, debit/credit cards or UPI etc. The fee for unreserved category is INR 500. For candidates belonging to  PwBD / Female / Transgender / Ex-Servicemen/ SC / ST / Minority Communities / Economically Backward Class (EBC), the application fee is INR 250.

Step 8 - Submit the application: Once the fee payment process is completed, click on the submit button for the final submission of the RRB Group D 2026 application form. 

Step 9 - Print and Save: Download the final application form after submitting. Print and save the form for future reference.

RRB Group D Application 2026: Application Fee

The RRB charges an application fee for the RRB Group D examination. However, a part of this fee is refunded after the CBT. The last date for application is February 22, 2026 but the fee payment portal will be opened till February 24, 2026. The table below shows the application fee for different categories of applicants and the refund amount. 

RRB Group D Application 2026: Eligibility

Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the RRB Group D exam. The RRB Group D eligibility 2026 is based on nationality, age and educational qualifications.

RRB Group D Eligibility 2026: Nationality

Candidates applying for the RRB Group D 2026 must be either of the following:

1. a citizen of India, or
2. a citizen of Nepal, or
3. a citizen of Bhutan, or
4. a Tibetan refugee (who came before January 1, 1962), or
5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam

A certificate of eligibility must have been issued by the Government of India in favour of candidates who belong to above categories 2, 3, 4 and 5.

RRB Group D Eligibility 2026: Age

 The age limit for the RRB Group D applicants is 18 to 33 years. However, for the vacancies released in 2026, the upper age limit has been increased by three years due to covid-19 pandemic. Thus, the age limit for RRB Group D 2026 is 18 to 36 years as on January 1, 2026.

There is some age relaxation for reserved categories. These categories are OBC-Non Creamy Layer/ SC/ ST/ PwBD/ Ex-servicemen/ EWS. 

RRB Group D Eligibility 2026: Educational Qualification

The minimum educational qualification for RRB Group D 2026 is a 10th pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. Those awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum educational/ technical qualification should not apply. 

RRB Group D Application 2026: Guidelines

Candidates must follow the instructions given below before filling the RRB Group D 2026 application form.

• All the information in the application form must be correct. 
• The conducting body will not entertain any changes after the registration.
• The application will be considered as submitted only after receiving confirmation of fee payment.
• Aadhar verification will facilitate smooth processing in exam and post exam period.
• After the final submission, the RRB allows candidates to make corrections in application form. Candidates have to pay a modification fee for it.
