XAT 2026 Exam Pattern Explained

The mock test is designed to precisely simulate the official XAT exam environment, covering all four sections: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning (VALR), Decision Making (DM), Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation (QA & DI), and General Knowledge (GK).

The mock test overs the section-wise distribution of approximately 95 questions in 180 minutes, mirroring the official exam’s question types, marking scheme, and time allocation.

XAT Exam 2026 Marking Scheme

Given below is the detailed marking scheme of the XAT for both Part 1 and Part 2 sections.

Part 1: Core Sections (VALR, DM, QA & DI)

  • Correct Answer: +1 mark for each correct answer.
  • Incorrect Answer: -0.25 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Unattempted Questions: If more than 8 questions are left blank, every additional unattempted question results in a penalty of -0.10 mark per question (after the 8th unattempted).

Part 2: General Knowledge (GK)

  • Correct Answer: +1 mark for every correct answer in the GK section.
  • No Negative Marking: There is no negative marking for incorrect responses in the GK section, so candidates can attempt all GK questions without fear of losing marks.

The mock test provides candidates with exposure to reading comprehension, data arrangement, complex reasoning caselets, quantitative problems, and static/current GK questions.
