The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will soon release the UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2026 on its official website. The commission is expected to release the UPSC CSE Prelims result 2026 tentatively by June 15, as per media reports. Once declared, candidates will be able to download the result from the official website of UPSC. The result can be accessed from – upsc.gov.in. Candidates who qualify for the exam will be able to appear for the UPSC CSE Mains Exam 2026. The commission will release the list of qualified candidates through a PDF uploaded on its website. The PDF will contain the roll number of the qualified candidates.
Candidates who will be declared qualified in the UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2026 will have to fill the Detailed Application Form (DAF) before the UPSC Mains Exam. For the first time in the commission’s history, this year, the provisional answer key for the UPSC prelims was released by the commission. This year, the UPSC CSE prelims exam was held on May 24, 2026, across the country. Around 8,19,372 students had registered for the exam for approximately 933 vacancies. The exam was conducted in offline mode in two shifts in an OMR-based format.

UPSC Prelims Result 2026: What’s next?
Once the UPSC Prelims result is declared, qualified candidates will be asked to complete applications for the main examination. The application form will consist of 6 modules. The application fee for the Detailed Application Form (DAF) is Rs. 200. The UPSC mains examination is scheduled to be conducted from August 20, 2026, to August 24, 2026. Candidates will have to qualify for the prelims, mains and interview stage to be selected in the UPSC exam.
