The UPSC CSE 2025 Final Result has been released as a PDF, containing the names and roll numbers of candidates who have successfully cleared the Civil Services Examination. Along with the declaration of the result, the commission will also release the UPSC Toppers’ List 2025.
UPSC CSE 2025 Topper: Meet Anuj Agnihotri AIR 1
The commission has announced the UPSC CSE 2025 toppers’ list on March 6, 2026, on its official website. Anuj Agnihotri has secured the All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the UPSC CSE 2025. Having completed his MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur, Agnihotri was drawn towards the “dynamic nature of Civil Services and the diversity that it offers,” he mentioned in one of his mock interviews.

The UPSC CSE 2025 Preliminary examination was conducted on May 25, 2025. With the conclusion of all three stages – Prelims, Mains, and Interview – candidates can check previous years’ final result date timelines in the table below.

UPSC coaching centres’ practice of publishing aspirants’ mock interviews without consent has sparked debate via an RTI filed by Shashank Gaur. Shashank Gaur filed an RTI under the Right to Information Act, 2005, with the Department of Consumer Affairs, questioning if coaching institutes can upload candidates’ mock interviews for UPSC CSE preparations despite later objections.
The Department of Consumer Affairs rejected the queries, stating they sought “advice or clarification” and not “information” under Section 2(f) of the RTI Act. The Central Information Commission upheld the response, dismissing the appeal and deeming it appropriate.
The issue surfaced amid UPSC CSE 2025 results declared on March 6, 2026, when institutes ramped up promotions using candidates’ names and interviews.
The final merit rank of the UPSC CSE is determined based on the marks obtained in the Mains examination (written papers) and the Personality Test (Interview). The Preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature and its marks are not counted in the final ranking.

Can a coaching institute publish a candidate’s mock interview online without his/her consent? The question was raised through an RTI application before the Department of Consumer Affairs, bringing attention to the use of aspirants’ interviews and personal details by coaching centres. The query, filed under the Right to Information Act, 2005, has sought to know whether coaching institutes can upload a candidate’s mock interview conducted during the preparations for the UPSC Civil Services Examination even if the aspirant later objects to its publication. However, in response, the Department of Consumer Affairs said the queries were in the nature of seeking advice or clarification and therefore did not fall within the definition of “information” under section 2(f) of the RTI Act. The reply was later upheld by the Central Information Commission, which dismissed the appeal after observing that the public authority had provided an appropriate response.

The UPSC CSE 2025 top three rank holders reflect a diverse trio: an MBBS doctor at Rank 1 (Anuj Agnihotri), an engineer at AIR 2 (Rajeshwari Suve M), and a commerce graduate from SRCC at AIR 3 (Akansh Dhull).

AIR 3 was born in Rohtak; however, later his family shifted to Panchukla. After schooling in Chandigarh, Dhull did his graduation from New Delhi and has been preparing for the Civil Service Examination. In CSE 2023, he secured a position of 342. He has been preparing for UPSC since 2021. Dhull skipped the campus placement of SRCC and appeared for CSE as it was his “childhood dream.”
