The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online application for the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) Registration 2026 from April 20. Candidates who wish to give the exam can register on the official website – ugcnet.nta.nic. The last date to register for the UGC NET application is May 20, up to 11:50 PM. From this UGC NET Registration online cycle, UGC has added ‘Statistics’ as a new subject for the NET-JRF exam. This year, the UGC NET exam will be conducted for 85 subjects. The tentative dates for the UGC NET June 2026 exam are June 22 to June 30, according to the official notification released by NTA.
Once the UGC NET Registration 2026 is complete, NTA will start the correction window from May 22 to May 24. Candidates must keep in mind that only those ugc net application will be considered for the admit card who have paid the application fee. The application fee varies for different categories. The application fee for the UGC NET exam 2026 is Rs 1,150 for general category candidates, Rs 600 for OBC-NCL/EWS candidates, and Rs 325 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Candidates must note that the exam will be in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
