The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the release date for the provisional answer key of the University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2025 in a notification released on January 12, 2025. The UGC NET December 2025 answer key will be released by January 15, 2026, on the official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
The NTA conducted the UGC NET 2025 December session examinations from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, in Computer-Based Test mode for 85 subjects in various cities across the country. A total of 7,35,592 candidates appeared for the exam across various exam centres. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections against the provisional UGC NET 2025 answer key within the notified schedule.
UGC NET Answer Key 2025: Exam Highlights
The NTA conducted the computer-based test in two shifts daily. On December 31, 38,450 candidates appeared for the UGC NET 2025 exam at 323 centres nationwide in 272 cities.
The UGC NET December 2025 exam was conducted successfully from December 31, 2025, to January 7, 2026, with a total of 7,35,592 candidates appearing across six days. Attendance stayed consistent at 71%-75% throughout, as per NTA data.
UGC NET 2025 Answer Key: What to Do?
The NTA will release the provisional answer key(s), question paper, and recorded responses for the UGC-NET December 2025 examination by January 15, 2026, on the official website of NTA. Upon display of the UGC NET 2025 provisional answer key, candidates will be able to view the question paper along with their recorded responses. Candidates will also be provided an opportunity to submit representations, that is, object to an answer key as per the prescribed process, within the notified schedule.
All representations received during the notified period will be examined by subject experts, and the final answer key and the UGC NET 2025 results will be prepared accordingly.
