The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the subject-wise examination schedule for the University Grants Commission–National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) December 2025 exam, starting December 31, 2025, and running until January 7, 2026. The UGC NET 2025 exam covers 85 subjects in computer-based test (CBT) mode, helping candidates attain the eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor or pursue a PhD in Indian universities and institutions.
The UGC NET 2025 exam will be conducted in two shifts daily: first from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and second from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, for both Paper 1 and Paper 2. UGC NET 2025 Subject-wise Shift Timings

UGC NET December 2025 City Intimation Slip
According to the official notification (dated December 17, 2025), the NTA will release the UGC NET December 2025 City Intimation Slip 10 days before the exam. The advance intimation of exam centres will help aspirants to know their allotted exam cities ahead of the exam and plan their travelling and exam day itinerary accordingly.
The NTA conducts the UGC NET exam to determine the eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor or Junior Research Fellowship in various subjects. The NTA conducts the UGC NET exam twice a year, in June and December.
