- An MoU has been signed between the State Government and the Department of Telecommunications, GoI, to establish India’s first Telecom Manufacturing Zone in Gwalior.
- The zone will manufacture mobile phones, telecom equipment, optical fibre, semiconductors and products related to 5G and 6G technology.
- The project is expected to attract an investment of 12,000 to 15,000 crore rupees and create around 5,000 direct jobs.

- A draft notification has been released to declare 56,825.7 square kms of Western Ghats as an ecologically sensitive area (ESA).
- The proposed ESAs are spread over 449 sq km in Gujarat, 17,340 sq km in Maharashtra, 1,461 sq km in Goa, 20,668 sq km in Karnataka, 6,914 sq km in Tamil Nadu and 9,993.7 sq km in Kerala
- Notification puts a complete ban on mining, quarrying, sand mining and the introduction/expansion of thermal power plants in ESAs.

- The joint committee of Parliament on One Nation One Election is granted an extension till the Winter session
- The committee is chaired by PP Chaudhary, constituting a 41-member panel, scrutinising the Constitution (One Hundred and Twenty-Ninth Amendment) Bill, 2024.
- The committee is working on a framework to conduct elections of the Lok Sabha and state legislative assemblies simultaneously.
