Lakhs of candidates who took the SBI PO exam on August 2, 4, and 5 are eagerly awaiting the SBI PO Prelims result release, which will determine their eligibility to appear for the mains examination scheduled in September.
This recruitment drive aims to fill 541 vacancies of Probationary Officers at SBI branches nationwide. The preliminary result is qualifying in nature, and only those candidates who qualify will move forward to the main examination and interview stages. SBI PO Prelims Result 2025: Steps to Download
The Probationary Officer (PO) post in the State Bank of India (SBI) is an entry-level managerial position that serves as the gateway to a prestigious banking career. Given below are the steps to download the SBI Prelims Result 2025.
Step 1. Go to the State Bank of India’s career portal at www.sbi.co.in/web/careers.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Current Openings’ section under the “Join SBI” or “Careers” tab.
Step 3: Find the notification for “Recruitment of Probationary Officers (ADVERTISEMENT NO: CRPD/PO/2025-26/04)”.
Step 4: Click on the link titled “Download Preliminary Exam Result for Exam held on 4th and 5th August 2025” or similar.
Step 5: Enter your Registration Number (or Roll Number), Date of Birth/Password, and the captcha code as required.
Step 6: Submit the information to view your result and qualifying status. Download the PDF or scorecard and take a printout for reference.

The Main Examination will be conducted online and will consist of Objective tests for 200 marks and a Descriptive test for 50 marks. The Descriptive test will be administered immediately after the conclusion of the Objective test, and candidates will have to type their Descriptive test answers on the computer.

The scores for the SBI PO Prelims 2025 exam are calculated based on the number of correct and incorrect answers, with the following marking scheme:
Each correct answer earns +1 mark.
Each wrong answer results in a penalty of -0.25 marks (negative marking).
No marks are deducted for unanswered questions.

Selected candidates will be appointed as Probationary Officers with a starting basic pay of ₹48,480 (plus increments and allowances). They undergo rigorous training and probation for two years with opportunities for growth, including postings anywhere in India and possibilities for promotions to top management levels.

The starting basic pay for an SBI PO is ₹48,480, which includes four advance increments, effectively making it ₹56,480 at the time of joining.
