Upon joining, candidates will undergo a six-month probation period. During this time, they must complete 15 mandatory e-lessons. SBI also maintains a waiting list, which is up to 50% of the total vacancies, state and category-wise. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifying marks but are not in the main merit list may be placed in the waiting list. Candidates from the waiting list may be offered appointments if vacancies arise due to non-joining or resignation of selected candidates.
The final selection is based solely on the candidate’s performance in the Mains examination. There is no interview round in the SBI Clerk recruitment process. Candidates who have successfully cleared the Mains exam and the LPT (if applicable) will be considered for final selection. A merit list will be prepared, categorized state-wise and category-wise, listing the roll numbers of the selected candidates.
After clearing the Language Test, candidates are required to undergo document verification. This step involves presenting original documents to validate the information provided during the application process.
Candidates who qualify in the Mains exam must undergo the Language Proficiency Test (LPT), unless they have already studied the specified local language in their 10th or 12th standard and can provide valid proof. The LPT assesses the candidate’s ability to read, write, and speak the local language of the state they have applied for. Failing this test will lead to disqualification, even if the candidate has cleared the Mains exam.
