The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has officially announced a major change in the board examination pattern fromt the year 2026-27. The Rajasthan’s School Education and Panchayati Raj Minister, Madan Dilawar, announced that from the academic session 2026-27, the board will conduct board examination twice a year for class 10 and 12 students. This announcement was made at a public event in Ganesh Nagar, Kota city. The first board examination for both class 10, 12 will remain compulsory, while those who qualify on the first examination can reappear for the second exam to improve their marks up to three subjects.
Rajasthan Board Class 12 main examination and RBSE 10th main exams will be held in February-March, whereas the second session exam will take place in May-June. Both exams will cover the entire syllabus and the best performance among the two will be considered the final result. Candidates who miss out in the RBSE class 10 exam and class 12 board examination can appear for the second session examination only if they submit a valid medical certificate or receive authorisation from the district education officer.
RBSE Board Exams 2026-27: Two Board Exam Policy
The RBSE has introduced two exam policy for Rajasthan Board class 10, 12 exams from the academic year 2026-27. Minister Madan Dilawar stated that the new dual examination system for Rajasthan board exams aims to reduces stress for the students and offer them a greater flexibility. It also align’s the state’s examination process with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 that promotes students friendly assessment models.

RBSE Exam Dates 2025-26: Previous Year Dates
The Rajasthan board is all set to announce the exam dates for RBSE 10th, 12th board exam 2026 on its official website. Candidates can check the last year board examination date for class 10 and 12 from the table below:

It is expected that the Rajasthan board exams for 10th and 12th standard will be conducted around the same time, this year too. The examination fee for both the session will remain the same, no changes will be done in that and the best marks among both the session will be considered for the final result.
