The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially extended the CSIR NET 2025 December session registration, offering aspirants additional time to complete their applications. Candidates can now apply for the prestigious National-level exam until October 27, 2025, by visiting the official website at csirnet.nta.nic.in. This decision comes as a significant relief to many who were unable to finalise their registration by the initial deadline of October 24, 2025.
The CSIR NET December 2025 application process began on September 25, 2025. NTA’s extension provides candidates a final opportunity to apply for eligibility in Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship/Assistant Professor positions within science and technology disciplines. According to the revised schedule, applicants must submit their forms by October 27, 2025 (up to 11:50 PM), while the last date for fee payment is October 28, 2025. Additionally, NTA will activate an application correction window from October 30 to November 1, 2025, allowing candidates to make necessary amendments to their submitted information. The CSIR NET December 2025 examination is scheduled for December 18, 2025.

Educational Qualification
Applications are open to General, Unreserved and General-EWS candidates who have earned at least 55% in master’s degree or equivalent examination from recognised universities/institutions can apply.
Candidates belonging to OBC, SC/ST, PwD/PwBD, or the third gender must have secured at least 50% marks to be eligible.
Age Limit
- Lectureship/Assistant Professor: No upper age limit.
- JRF: Maximum up to 30 years (with relaxation as per categories)
