NTA clarifies No calculator Allowed for JEE Main 2026 exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently issued a formal clarification regarding the use of calculators in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026, clearing up confusion caused by a typological error in the initial bulletin. While a brochure released on October 31, 2025, mentioned the availability of an on-screen virtual calculator for candidates during the Computer-Based Test (CBT) but the subsequent official notice released on November 2, 2025, clearly stated that no calculator – physical or virtual, will be permitted in the exam.

NTA explained that the mention of the on-screen calculator was an error linked to their genetic test platform and does not apply to JEE Main 2026. This clarification from NTA aims to maintain transparency and uphold the integrity of JEE Main by preventing any misinterpretation that could lead to unfair advantages. The JEE Main 2026 registration process is underway, for session 1 and it will continue till November 27, 2025.

JEE Main 2026: Official Correction and Updated Information Bulletin

Following the error, NTA released a revised information bulletin which removes any mention of an on-screen calculator. The updated document is now available for download on the official JEE Main website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates are urged to refer only to the latest version to avoid misinformation and ensure compliance with the exam policies. The agency expressed regret for the confusion and inconvenience caused to aspirants, urging candidates to download and refer to the revised information bulletin available on the official JEE Main website. This ensures candidates understand that all mathematical calculations must be performed manually without any digital assistance during the exam.
