NEET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency is all set to announce the exam date for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET UG exam 2025. Every year, NEET UG exam is conducted on the first Sunday of May. NTA will soon begin the application process for NEET UG 2025 session at the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
As per the latest information shared by NTA, NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in a single shift and single day. The exam will be conducted in offline, pen and paper format. Once the registration begins, medical aspirants will be able to enroll for the exam online.

NEET UG in single day, single shift
The NTA has announced that NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted in a single day and single shift. Moreover, the exam will be held in pen and paper format (OMR based) only. The exam date for NEET UG will be announced soon.
Exam pattern for NEET UG revised
The National Testing Agency has issued a notice to clarify the NEET UG exam pattern 2025. As per the latest changes, the pattern will now revert to the pre-COVID format. This means that the optional section in NEET UG question paper has now been removed. The new exam pattern for NEET UG is as follows:

The optional section in NEET UG also provided extra 20 minutes to candidates. With the removal of the optional section, the exam duration for NEET UG is now 180 minutes or 3 hours.

Is APAAR ID mandatory for NEET registration 2025?
The National Testing Agency, on January 14, 2025 issued a notice asking students to update their AADHAR information and link their contact number with their AADHAR. NTA had also asked candidates to integrate their APAAR or Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry ID for a transparent registration process. The APAAR ID is designed to digitally store students’ academic credits to keep a record. However, NTA later clarified that APAAR ID is not mandatory for NEET UG registration process. Medical aspirants will be able to register for the exam online without APAAR credentials as well.
Syllabus for NEET UG 2025
The latest NEET UG syllabus has been prepared by the Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB), National Medical Commission (NMC).
