The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an important advisory on January 5, 2026, for candidates who are planning to appear for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026. As per the official notice, candidates are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar card, UDID card and Category certificate are accurate, valid and duly updated before the NEET UG Application 2026.
The candidates are advised to ensure that documents, such as the Aadhaar Card, UDID Card and Category Certificate, are updated well in advance before applying for NEET UG 2026 in order to avoid any discrepancies, grievances or rejection later in the process. The NEET UG Application 2026 window and exam dates will be announced soon by NTA on the official website.
NEET UG Application 2026: Aadhaar Card, UDID Card, Category Certificate Updation
Candidates who are planning to appear for the NEET UG 2026 exam must check the important points announced by the NTA before applying for the NEET UG exam 2026:
Aadhaar Card Updation
All the applicants who will be applying for the NEET UG exam 2026 must make sure that their details mentioned on the Aadhaar Card are updated, valid and accurate. Mentioned below are list of details that need to be reflected correctly on the Aadhaar Card:
- Name
- Gender Date of Birth
- Photograph
- Address
- Biometric Information (Whenever applicable)
If any candidates need to correct or update their details in the Aadhaar Card, then they can do so by visiting the official UDID website – uidai.gov.in or myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
UDID Card (for Persons with Disabilities)
Those candidates who have an UDID Card have to ensure that their UDID Card is valid, updated and renewed before the NEET UG 2026 registration.
Category Certificate
Candidates belonging to the EWS/SC/ST/OBC-NCL category must ensure that their Category Certificate is updated and valid before the beginning of the NEET UG registration process 2026.
NEET UG 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who will be applying for the NEET UG 2026 this time, must thoroughly check the NEET UG 2026 eligibility criteria:
- Only candidates who have completed 17 years of age at the time when they are taking admission will be considered eligible for the exam.
- Candidates belonging from general category (UR)/ General-EWS and even those candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/ PwBD Category should be born on or before December 31, 2006 to give NEET UG 2026 exam.
- Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English subjects individually in the qualifying exam only then they will be considered eligible.
- Candidates who belong to the general category should at least have scored a minimum of 50 per cent in the qualifying examination.
