NEET UG 2025: How Merit List for Counselling is Prepared?

The merit list for NEET UG 2025 counselling for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats is prepared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) based on candidates’ performance in the NEET (UG) 2025 examination. Only those who have opted for AIQ consideration are included in this list. Once finalised, the merit list is forwarded to the Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as well as to the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homeopathy (NCH) under the Ministry of AYUSH.

These authorities then use the merit list to conduct the online counselling process, ensuring the allocation of the 15% AIQ seats is fair and based strictly on merit and candidate preferences.

The admitting/counselling authorities will draw a merit list of the candidates based on All India Rank in the respective categories declared by the candidates at the time of applying for admission/counselling as per the State applicable rules.

The counselling process is fully online except for the final round, which may require physical reporting for document verification. Participants should also ensure accuracy in the information provided during registration, as these details are permanent and required for admission. Candidates must stay alert for notifications regarding deadlines, document requirements, and seat allotment results.
