The Karnataka School Education Department has made important revisions to the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test (KARTET) 2025 eligibility criteria. Notably, the B.Ed qualification is no longer valid for candidates applying to Paper 1, which qualifies teachers for Classes 1 to 5. Previously, candidates with at least 50% marks in graduation and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree were eligible to appear for Paper 1.
The recent notification withdraws this criteria of having a B.Ed degree for Paper 1. From this year, candidates who have passed or are appearing in second year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), or hold equivalent qualifications, are eligible to appear for KARTET 2025 exam. This will ensure candidates possess specific training geared towards primary education.
