With just two days remaining before the Karnataka Second Pre-University Course (PUC) examinations begin, social media has been flooded with claims of a question paper leak, causing widespread anxiety among students. To counter the misinformation, the Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has clarified that these reports are entirely baseless. According to the KSEAB president, Prakash Nittali, certain individuals are attempting to mislead students by offering alleged 2nd PUC question papers in exchange for money. Reassuring students, the KSEAB confirmed that no paper leak has occurred and urged them not to fall victim to such scams.

The School Education and Literacy Minister, Madhu Bangarappa, also held a meeting on February 24, 2026, with top police officials and bureaucrats, asking them to take instant action.

The Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam 2026 is being conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) from February 28, 2026, to March 17, 2026, in a single Morning session of 10.15 AM to 01.30 PM. The exam is being carried out offline in pen-and-paper format across Karnataka.   1. The School Education and Literacy department of Karnataka has taken the onus to monitor the social media accounts during the ongoing Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations.
  2. The School Education and Literacy Minister, Madhu Bangarappa, has stated in a press release that he will take required actions against those who attempt to circulate fake Karnataka 2nd PUC Question Paper 2026 on social media. 
  3. The Karnataka government has further reduced the passing criteria, reducing the minimum qualifying marks required in Class 10 and Class 12, from 35 percent to 33 percent in Class 10th and from 35 to 30 percent in Class 12th. 
  4. Bangarappa has also provided free KSRTC and BMTC bus travel for students appearing for their 10th and 12th examinations. The students will be required to furnish their examination hall tickets. Free travel arrangements would also be arranged in private buses in the coastal and Malnad regions.
