The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) has started the counselling process for the admission process of the academic year 2026-27. The JoSAA Counselling 2026 commenced on June 2, 2026, for a total of 56,880 who qualified under JEE Advanced 2026. As the counselling process has begun, candidates are wondering which college they might get according to their rank. The authority will release the opening and closing ranks of various government institutes such as IITs, NITs, IIITs or GFTIs at its official website – josaa.nic.in after each result declaration of each seat allotment round.
The result for the JEE Advanced 2026 was released on June 1, 2026. As per the official data released by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, a total of 179694 candidates appeared in both papers 1 and 2. Out of this number, 56880 candidates have qualified for the JoSAA Counselling 2026, among which 10,107 candidates are female. The JoSAA counselling registration window is now open and will remain active until June 11, 2026. JoSAA Registration 2026: How to register for JoSAA Counselling?

Step 1: Go to the official website of JoSAA – josaa.nic.in.
Step 2: Tap on the active JoSAA 2026 Registration link.
Step 3: Login using your JEE 2026 Application number and password.
Step 4: A new window containing all the details of the candidate will appear on the screen.
Step 5: Check all the details thoroughly and click on ‘Submit’.
Step 6: Enter your preferred choices of institutes and branch or course.
Step 7: Lock in your choices before the last date of JoSAA Registration 2026.
Candidates should note that it is highly crucial for them to lock their choices on or before the last day of choice filling i.e. June 11, 2026. In case any candidate forgets to lock his or her choices, the last saved choices will be automatically locked upon for Seat Allocation.
