The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the exam dates for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main exam 2026 in online mode. According to the official notice released on NTA’s official website – jeemain.nta.ac.in, the JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions– one in January and second in April 2026. JEE Main 2026 session 1 will be held from January 21 to 30, 2026 while the JEE Main session 2 exams are scheduled from April 1 to 10, 2026.
JEE Main 2026 is India’s premier Entrance Examination for Undergraduate engineering programmes. The JEE Mains Exam is conducted by NTA for admission to BTech, BArch, and B Plan courses at NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. BTech admission in IITs is through JEE Advanced, but students first need to qualify JEE Main to appear in JEE Advanced. The JEE Main exam is conducted twice every year in January and April, wherein students can appear in one or both sessions, and the rank is calculated considering the best of two scores.

The NTA announced the JEE Main 2026 schedule with two exam sessions — January 21–30 and April 1–10, 2026. The registration for Session 1 opens in October 2025. This year, NTA enables Aadhaar-linked authentication, more exam cities, and special provisions for PwD candidates to ensure easier access and transparency in the examination process.
