What is the NTA Score for JEE Main?
NTA score in the JEE Main exam is a normalised score that minimizes the difference in the difficulty level of the exam held in different sessions. Candidate’s raw score or NTA score is compiled from multiple sessions and converted into percentile. The normalization procedure is based on the percentile score, ensuring that the candidates are neither benefitted nor disadvantaged due to the difficulty level of the exam.
What is a Percentile Score?
Percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of all the candidates who appear for the examination. The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees. The percentile score will be the normalized score for the examinations and shall be used for the preparation of the merit lists of JEE Main 2025.
The Percentile score of a Candidate is calculated as follows: 100 X the Number of candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’ with a raw score EQUAL TO OR LESS than the candidate / The total number of the candidates who appeared in the ‘Session’
