The National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently concluded JEE Mains 2025 on January 30, 2025. Considered as one of the most competitive engineering entrance exams in India, it serves as a gateway to prestigious institutions like NITs, IITs and GFTIs and also acts as a qualifying exam for JEE Advanced which is required for admission into IITs. JEE Mains is held twice a year (January and April) in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode by NTA. Candidates can appear in one or both the sessions as per their preference.
Candidates who appeared for the examination this year can download the JEE Main Exam 2025 answer key from the official website- jeemain.nta.ac.in, which was released on February 4, 2025. To qualify for JEE Main 2025 and become eligible for JEE Advanced, candidates need to meet the cutoff score which differs annually based on the difficulty level and the number of the candidates. While the exact cutoff for JEE Mains 2025 will be released after the second session of the exam, which will be held from April 1, 2025, to April 8, 2025. Till then, we can refer to previous years’ cutoffs to estimate the qualifying marks.
Good Score to qualify JEE Mains 2025
As per students’ and subject experts’ feedback, this years’ JEE Mains 2025 exam (all shifts) was moderate to tough in terms of difficulty level. Hence, candidates can expect the JEE Main cutoff to remain lower this year. However, there are other factors as well which influence the JEE Main qualifying marks which are not considered while providing the expected cut off here.
Based on JEE Main exam difficulty level, this year scoring 180 marks out of 300 can be considered good for admission to top NITs. Students have the chance to get a Computer Science stream in NITs and IIITs if they are able to score more than 220 marks.
