JEE Main Registration 2026 (Ongoing): Check important instructions for registration and reservation criteria

The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 registration process has already begun for the January 2026 session 1 exam. The JEE Main registration process for session 1 was started on October 31 and will continue till November 27, 2025. Candidates who are remaining to register for the JEE Main can visit the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in and fill out the application form. This year, NTA has introduced new JEE Main requirements, such as the mandatory updation of Aadhar card, UDID card, Category certificate, and also uploading of live photographs.

The last date for successful transaction of the prescribed application fee for session 1 JEE Main application process 2026 is November 27, 2025. The JEE Main 2026 session 1 examination is scheduled to take place between January 21 to January 30, 2026, and the result for the same will be declared by February 12, 2026. NTA will release the application form for JEE Main session 2 by the end of January 2026, and the examination for JEE Main session 2 will take place from April 2 to April 9, 2026. The JEE Main 2026 exam will be conducted in two shifts. 

JEE Main 2026: Important Registration Instructions

Candidates must check the important instructions for the JEE Main 2026 Registration Process below:

  • Multiple application forms submitted by the candidates will not be accepted and will result in the cancellation of his/her result.
  • Applicants need to upload a recent photograph in colour with 80% face visible. Photograph must be in JPEG/JPG format between 10 kb to 200 kb.
  • The application fee for JEE Main 2026 can only be submitted through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI services.
  • The candidates will be allowed to apply for JEE Main session 2 exam separately using the same application number along with fee payment. 
  • The confirmation page of the application form for each session will only be generated after the successful application fee transaction. In case the confirmation page is not generated for students, they can approach the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway.
