The National Testing Agency issues the JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines 2026 for candidates to know how they have to appear for this national-level examination. The guidelines include all important information regarding the reporting time, exam centre details, code of conduct and much more. This year, the JEE Main exam date is scheduled from January 21 to 29, 2026. The admit cards of candidates who are appearing on January 21, 22, 23 and 24, 2026, are already released on the official website of NTA.

The JEE Main Session 1 Exam 2026 is one of the most competitive engineering entrance exams of India, conducted to grant admissions to undergraduate students in courses like B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning programs. The exam serves as a gateway for admission into top institutes of India, such as IITs, NITs, CFTIs and other accepting institutes. JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines 2026: Check these instructions 

It is important to follow all the instructions stated in the JEE Main Exam Day Guidelines. Any action that goes against the guidelines can lead to the cancellation of your candidature. Therefore, it is recommended to follow the rules diligently. 

  1. Candidates must report 2 hours before the exam starts.
  2. As per NTA guidelines, no late entries will be entertained, be it for any reason, once the gates close.
  3. Do not forget to carry your JEE Main Exam 2026 admit card, as without it, you will not be allowed to enter the exam venue.
  4. After entering the exam venue, only sit on the seat allotted to you as per your Roll Number. The changing of seats or swapping them is treated as Unfair Means (UFM).
  5. The candidates must check the subject displayed on the computer. It should match the subject opted for by the candidate. 
  6. In case of any mismatch, inform the Invigilator immediately to get it rectified.
  7. The exams will not be conducted again under any circumstances for absentees.
  8. Candidates should not bring any prohibited items inside the exam hall. The list of prohibited items includes stationery, bags, papers, food, water, mobile phones, calculators, electronic gadgets, metallic items, etc.
  9. Bring all the mandatory documents such as admit card, photo identity card, passport-sized photographs, PwD/PwBD certificate (if applicable).
  10. For rough work during the exam, only use the rough sheets provided to you. Write your Name and Application Number on each sheet before using it. Submit all rough sheets to the invigilator after the exam. Swapping sheets is considered as an unfair means to attempt the exam.
