JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam Starts Tomorrow: Check Do’s, Don’ts and Important Exam Day Guidelines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is to start the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam from tomorrow, April 2, 2026. Candidates must carry their admit card with them on the day of the examination. JEE Main 2026 Session 2 with the B.E./B. Tech (Paper 1) exams are scheduled for April 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8, and will be conducted in two shifts, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, and 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, while B. Arch and B.Planning (Paper 2) exams are set for April 7, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon. Registered candidates should keep the important guidelines in mind before taking the exam.

The JEE Main 2026 Session 2 exam candidates who haven’t downloaded their admit card for their exams scheduled on April 2 and 4, 2026, can now download their admit cards through the official website of NTA – jeemain.nta.nic.in.  For candidates whose exams are scheduled on the remaining dates, i.e. April 05, 06, 07 and 08, 2026, the JEE Main Session 2 admit card 2026 will be released in due course. All the students are advised to carefully go through their admit cards.

JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Exam: Dos and Don’ts

To not stress before the exam, students can keep the following points in mind:

  1. Do not forget to keep your admit card in your bag the night before, and make sure it is printed on A-4-sized paper clearly. Ensure the self-declaration is filled in, but do not sign it.
  2. Do carry two passport-sized photos identical to the one uploaded during registration.
  3. Do carry an original photo ID; make sure it is non- expired, photocopies will not be accepted.
  4. Do carry PwD certificate and scribe documents if required.
  5. Dress in light clothing, thin-soled shoes/ sandals, and simple trousers with minimal pockets. 
  6. Avoid rings, earrings, necklaces, or any other jewellery. 
  7. Don’t carry gadgets like smartwatches, fitness bands, and even analogue watches- as they are not permitted inside the examination centre.
  8. Do arrive early, before the reporting time ends. Entry is strictly barred 30 minutes before the commencement of the exam. 
  9. Don’t carry stationery like pens, pencils or paper. 
  10. Once seated, do check if the mouse and computer are working perfectly.  If any issues are noticed, tell the invigilator immediately. 
  11. Do all the rough work on the provided A-4 sheets. You must write your name and roll number at the top of each sheet. 
  12. Don’t apply henna or ink, as it may hinder the biometric process.

Tomorrow is the execution of the preparation students have done for so long. Candidates are advised to stay calm and keep the documents ready tonight.

 JEE Main Session 2 Exam 2026: Steps to Download Admit Card

  • Step 1: Visit the official JEE Main website- jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Step 2: Click on the JEE Main admit card 2026 link.
  • Step 3: Enter your application number and birth date. 
  • Step 4: Print it after downloading the admit card.
