JEE Main 2026: NTA Allows Rescheduling of April 5 Exam Due to Easter

Candidates can now request a reschedule for the JEE Main 2026 Exam scheduled for April 5, 2026 as the exam date clashes with Easter Sunday. They can head to the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in to make the request.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a press release, dated April 1, 2026, allowing the rescheduling of the Joint Entrance Exam – Main (JEE Main) 2026 scheduled for April 5, 2026. The conducting body came to this decision as the date clashes with Easter Sunday. As per the press release, candidates who requested via email to reschedule their JEE (Main) 2026 examination due to the Easter celebration on 5th April 2026 have been accommodated. Accordingly, their examination dates have been rescheduled. Candidates can head to the official website,  jeemain.nta.nic.in, to reschedule the exam.

The JEE Main 2026 Session 2, conducted by the NTA, is scheduled to be conducted on April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, 2026. NTA has also released the JEE Main 2026 Admit Card for candidates who have their exam scheduled on April 2 and 4, 2026. In response to various representations received from aspirants of the JEE (Main) 2026 Session 2, the NTA has made revisions to the scheduled examination centres and dates on the grounds of Easter Celebrations. The Union Government has allowed candidates to seek an alternate date due to a clash with Easter. The rescheduling process will be conducted online via jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates must check their updated exam schedule and shift carefully to avoid confusion. 

JEE Main 2026: How to Apply for Rescheduling?

It must be noted that only the affected candidates can apply for the rescheduling of the JEE Main 2026 Exam that will be held on April 5, 2026. Candidates can refer to the steps below for the same.

Step 1. Visit the official website.

Step 2. Click on the link for “JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Reschedule Request” for eligible candidates.

Step 3. Log in using Application Number and Date of Birth.

Step 4. Select the option for the April 5 rescheduling request.

Step 5. Choose the reason and confirm submission.

Once submitted, download and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Step 2. Click on the JEE Main Session 2 Admit Card 2026 link.

Step 3. Enter your application number and birth date.

Step 4. You can access your JEE Main admit card 2026 session 2 after entering the above information.

Step 5. Print it after downloading the admit card.
